Dr. Allen spent most of his childhood and most of his education in Northern Utah. Dr. Allen served a two-year service mission for his church in Brazil after graduating high school. After earning his bachelor’s degree from Weber State University, Dr. Allen and his wife relocated to New York City so that he could enroll in the NYU College of Dentistry. After completing dental school, Dr. Allen joined the US Army as a captain and served there for four years.

Dr. Allen completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) program while serving in the Army, allowing him to consult with experts in almost every area of dentistry. Dr. Allen served the Army in various roles and received numerous honors, such as the Army Achievement Medal and the Army Commendation Medal. 

Dr. Gordon Christensen, an internationally renowned dentist, provided Dr. Allen with extensive training and instruction. Less than 35 dentists worldwide hold the distinction of serving as a mentor, and Dr. Christensen has even invited Dr. Allen to assist him in teaching his hands-on courses.
